Cynosure attends Innovations 2011 conference

SAN DIEGO, March 02, 2011 - Staff of Cynosure New Media are back in the office today following 3 days of exhibiting at the League for Innovation in the Community College, Innovations 2011 conference held in San Diego from February 27 through March 2, 2011.

Already well known among California Community Colleges, the conference was the perfect venue for Cynosure to demostrate it's online new student orientation and online new student advisor programs to a national audience.

Cynosure's work was spotlighted during one of Tuesday afternoon's breakout sessions titled, "Finally, Mandatory Orientation for Student Retention and Success with Online Support." presented by Citrus College.

SAN DIEGO, March 01, 2011 - Cynosure New Media, Inc., has been chosen by Crafton Hills College to develop its online new student orientation program.

Community colleges are finding it difficult to get students to take classroom-based orientation training. We provide an online alternative that is engaging for the student and can be re-visited at all times as a student's need for various types of information changes through the school year.

The online programs combine video, animation, text, graphics, and animation to portray campus life, student services, and every day college processes to a new or existing student in ways not possible in the traditional setting. Student can take the orientation at any time during their enrollment period. Embedded quiz questions validate content mastery and achievement of stated Student Learning Outcomes.

Similar projects produced by Cynosure are currently deployed at San Diego City College, Citrus College, Pierce College, and Santa Monica College.
